PGY1 Ambulatory Care Track
In February 2021, we will be applying for funding to expand our PGY1 residency program with one additional position focused on ambulatory care (NMS 121621). This program is designed to develop pharmacists that are capable of providing excellent pharmaceutical care in both the adult medicine and ambulatory care setting. Required rotations include internal medicine I , internal medicine II, family medicine, infectious diseases, pharmacy management, and therapeutic drug policy. The resident will build the remainder of their schedule with 20 weeks of electives among the following rotations: cardiology - ambulatory care, cardiology - inpatient, critical care, emergency medicine, geriatrics, infectious diseases II, nephrology, oncology, parenteral nutrition, pharmacy informatics, quality management, sterile products, and transitions of care. The program will interview for 2021-2022 residency year and participate in the match if funding is approved. We are excited to expand our clinical services in the ambulatory care setting and provide this opportunity to practice pharmaceutical care at the top of our license.
